Documentation Manager and Team Leader

§       I came to Yandex to design technical documentation for entire Company from scratch, and to build a documentation team. I’ve chosen the DITA XML documentation standard. My team is providing user’s and developer’s guides, API reference books. We’ve designed a technical documentation portal for Yandex.

§       Yandex is the absolute leader among Russian-speaking Web portals, and one of the largest search engines. It is the fastest growing IT company in Russia. Yandex provides a lot of other services, including free email, electronic payment system and so on. HQ are located in Moscow.

§       I am one of the ex-Borland specialists who organize the Saint-Petersburg office for Yandex LLC.

August 2004 – August 2006                      Borland Software Corporation

Technical Writer

§       I have been involved in the following Borland projects: Together, Delphi, CaliberRM, and ECO. Find below brief descriptions of my tasks.

§       Authoring content in English, supervising structure, graphic design.

§       Implementation of the new Borland structured XML-based documentation architecture (similar to DITA). Migration of large documentation projects to XML.

§       Development of documentation and online help in the following formats: Microsoft Help 2.x, JavaHelp, Eclipse Help, PDF, and HTML.

§       Maintenance of the documentation Web site.

November 2002 – July 2004                                              Monolit-Info

Expert in Documentation and Marketing

§       I designed and implemented the documentation system for a huge ERP project called Monolit SQL. I designed the documentation architecture, structure, style, and templates, trained writers and set up applications and file repository for them. I authored and edited a lot of content. Then I started with the following tasks.

§       Design and maintenance of the company Web sites.

§       Development of the marketing strategy for Monolit-Info. I created white papers, press releases, and other promotional and presentation materials in Russian and English, designed the corporate style, performed public relations and direct marketing actions.

§       I started in the department of documentation, online help, user interface, and localization, and finally became its leader. NOVAVOX AG (now Seversoft) is a Swiss-Russian company that develops a well-known computer telephony system called Smartphone. Find below brief descriptions of my responsibilities.

§       I performed all these tasks myself and managed a team of up to 15 people. The documentation project is ca. 2000 pages per one language.
